George’s Pet Pals Terms & Conditions

Prior to any agreed activities George’s Pet Pals will meet with your dog to discuss their individual
needs and requirements and offer that personal service for your pet. All terms and conditions will
be issued with the booking form, upon completion and signed by the customer they will be deemed
as agreed and accepted by the owner.

Dog Walking & Home Boarding
1. All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment by George’s Pet Pals of which George’s Pet Pals reserve the right to refuse admission to any dog deemed in their discretion to be, or have the potential to be dangerous or disruptive.

2. The owner is solely responsible or any harm or damage caused by their dog while it is in the care of George’s Pet Pals, or is using any other services provided by George’s Pet Pals, and agrees to indemnify George’s Pet Pals in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

3. Unfortunately, we are unable to walk bitches in season and or pregnant.

4. All dogs must be neutered / spayed George’s Pet Pals cannot be held responsible ifyour dogimpregnates or is impregnated by other dogs.

5. Dogs must have up to date vaccinations, we can accept an up to date titre testing certificate. They must also have regular worming and flea treatment, dates to be disclosed. Any health issues or allergies must be disclosed on the booking form.

6. Dogs must be micro chipped and record of the ID must be disclosed on the booking form.

7. Dogs must be sociable if they are able to join group walks but if an issue is declared George’s Pet Pals are happy to discuss this with you and potentially arrange 1-2-1 walks for your dog. 1-2-1 walks will be charged at premium rate.

8. All dogs will be walked on the lead and must not pull, off lead will only be allowed once the owner has agreed to allow off lead activities and the disclaimer on the booking form has been signed. The dog must have good recall and a basic obedience off lead. George’s Pet Pals will walk your dog on the lead or long line until we are satisfied that recall is established.

9. George’s Pet Pals offer the services for dogs to co-mingle in groups and the owner accepts that during the course of normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury, but scratches, punctures, torn ligaments or other injuries not limited to may occur despite the best supervision. We endeavour to ensure that your dog is kept safe and well.

10. Dogs are walked in small controlled social group up to a maximum of 6 per dog walker.

11. Unfortunately, we can not take dogs with aggressive tendencies and are solely reliant upon the owner’s representation that their dog is in good health and has not harmed or shown aggression or threatening behaviour towards any person or any other dog.

12. Dogs will be walked in all weather conditions George’s Pet Pals will apply judgement if a walk needs to be cut short due to adverse weather conditions that could compromise the safety of the dog or dog walker eg excessive temperatures, thunderstorms, bad snow, ice.

13. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that dog leads, collars, harnesses and other training aids are in good working order and fit well. George’s Pet Pals preference is not to walk dogs on retractable leads due to safety and control of the dogs when walking (not an issue when walking 2 or less dogs).

14. The owner is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives while under the care of George’s Pet Pals, together will any associated costs eg vet call out charges. The owner authorises George’s Pet Pals to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as the deem necessary. Where possible this will be conducted at the owners usual/preferred vet, but this cannot be guaranteed eg in an emergency. The owner accepts that George’s Pet Pals may at their discretion use their preferred registered vets,
Sandbeck Vets in Wetherby. The owner agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon
collection of their dog from the vets or by agreement of the veterinary practice.

15. All dogs must be able to travel in a car/van with other dogs.

16. The owner when booking dog walks via telephone, email, Facebook, Messenger, must book walks 1 week in advance this will allow George’s Pet Pals to schedule and plan routes accordingly.

17. The owner consents to their dog being photographed, filmed for use is social media or advertising unless specified not on the booking form. All such media remains the property of George’s Pet Pals.

18. The owner agrees that George’s Pet Pals is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

19. The owner agrees to provide keys (key safe codes, house alarm, gate codes) in order to arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment, failure to do so will result in cancellation for that dog walk and will be charged in full to the owner.

20. The owner agrees that by signing the key holder waiver on the booking form this will indemnify George’s Pet Pals in full against any liability arising from theft, loss or damage to the property or its contents.

21. The owner must notify George’s Pet Pals if the property is protected by CCTV.

22. George’s Pet Pals will provide weekly invoices (if you are allocated invoices subject to payment review) which require prompt payment with 24 hours of receipt. Late payments of outstanding monies owed will be subject to a 5% surcharge per week overdue.

23. George’s Pet Pals refuse the right to provide services on a bank holiday and or over the Christmas, New Year period. If services are provided they will be charged at double the standard rate, with a 50% deposit (non-refundable) at the point of booking and the balance to be paid on the drop off of your pet.

24. Unfortunately, George’s Pet Pals cannot accept no persistent barkers for dog boarding and all dogs must be house trained.

25. The owner must provide all food and equipment for the dog whilst in the boarding care of George’s Pet Pals. Any additional food required for your pet will be invoiced accordingly.

26. The owner agrees to pay 50% of the total cost to be paid at the time of booking for boarding care, this is non-refundable of which the outstanding balance is paid to George’s Pet Pals
when the dog is dropped off to the owner.

27. George’s Pet Pals will properly dispose of your pet’s waste. For cat litter trays we request that the owner provide all necessary items such as: scoop, cat litter, plastic bags and indicate. where you would like these waste bags disposed of. The same for any other home-based animal. For dog walking George’s Pet Pals will dispose of pet waste and we will provide waste bags for this, we may, however need to sometimes bring the waste back to dispose of in your outside waste bin.

Additional Terms & Conditions

With respect to cats and other small animals under George’s Pet Pals

28. The owner must provide all food, bedding and other associated pet products.

29. The owner must declare on the booking form whether the cat / small animal is to be keptinside the house only or authorise permission for the animal to be let out. George’s Pet Pals are not liable for any injuries or loss of pet should the cat / small animal not return.

30. The owner must provide access to hand washing facilities for George’s Pet Pals.

Cancellation Policy
All dog walks must be booked in advance, 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations otherwise full payment will be invoiced.

George’s Pet Pals reserve the right to cancel at short notice however we endeavour to ensure that such occurrences are kept to a minimum.

Dog boarding requires a 50% deposit, which is non-refundable and 2 weeks’ notice is required. Full payment will be charged if George’s Pet Pals cannot fill your booked space.

Insurance

George’s Pet Pals has public liability insurance with Protectivity Insurance up to £5million liability
cover which covers for dog walking, dog boarding and small animals within our care. George’s Pet Pals cannot be held liable for any loss, injury, illness or death of an animal. It is recommended that owners have the own full pet insurance cover.

George’s Pet Pals refuse the right to refuse a booking for any uninsured animal.
Should any legal or other claim made against your animal (cat, dog but not limited to) whilst in the care of George’s Pet Pals, all costs will be covered by the owner.

Privacy Policy
All of your information will be kept private and confidential, we do not pass on any information to 3rd parties. George’s Pet Pals highly respects our clients entrusting us with the care of the pets and access to their home.
Photographs for social media, advertising purposes are the property of George’s Pet Pals, the owner must declare on the booking form that they do not wish for them to be used.

All of George’s Pet Pals records will be stored in compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation 2018).

We will take the utmost care of your animal, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times whilst in the care of George’s Pet Pals. We will treat your animal with kindness and respect and ensure that they have the best experience.

Pet Sitting

Pet owner responsibilities:

  1. Must provide information that is accurate to the best of their knowledge about their pet(s). This includes disclosing any changes in their pets health and behaviour or any modifications to the contact details that may be required while the services are being carried out.
  2. If the pet(s) have known behavioural issues or aggression triggers, the Pet owner must disclose this to the pet sitter. The Pet sitter has the right to refuse to provide the services if the pet(s) have a contagious disease or display aggressive and dangerous behaviour.
  3. The Pet owner should ensure that there is a sufficient supply of pet necessities, including but not limited to pet food and medication (if applicable). These supplies should be sufficient for the entire duration of the services.
  4. The Pet owner should grant the pet sitter access to the property where the pet(s) are located. This includes providing any necessary access codes or keys throughout the service period.
  5. The Pet owner is responsible for commuting any known hazards or safety concerns on the property to the pet sitter.
  6. The pet sitter is able to leave the dog alone for 4/5 hours and if the pet owner doesn’t agree to this they should ask the pet sitter to include garden visits.
  7. The Pet owner agrees to pay the Pet sitter fees as follows for the services. The service fee is currently set at £60 per day, this may be more due to the dogs needs and how many dogs / pets there are. The payment for services is due when the Pet sitter invoices the Pet owner and should be paid by the schedule date.
  8. If the payment is not made by the specified due date a late payment charge may be applied of 5% of the invoice value. In the event of non payment, the Pet sitter reserves the right to withhold or terminate services.
  9. The Pet owner is responsible for any additional costs incurred while the services are provided, including but not limited to veterinary expenses, transportation, , special food or supplies or other unforeseen expenses required for the well – being of the pet(s).
  10. To cancel or alter services without incurring a cancellation fee, the Pet owner is required to give written notice at least 1 months’ notice prior to the planned commencement date.
  11. If a cancellation is made outside of the notice period a cancellation period may be imposed this will be the same amount of the service cost, the invoice will be due to be paid for the full service amount.
  12. The Pet sitter reserves the right to cancel or terminate services at any time that may include but are not limited to unsafe work conditions, aggressive pet / Pet owner behaviour.
  13. Should the Pet sitter cancel the services, the Pet owner will be promptly notified and a proportionate refund of any fees paid will be provided.
  14. In case of termination the Pet owner commits to making arrangements for the care of their Pet(s).
  15. The Pet sitter will ensure the secure return of any access items (keys, fobs, alarm codes).
  16. In the event of a pet medical emergency or illness during the service period, the Pet sitter will make reasonable efforts to contact the Pet owner or their emergency contact immediately.
  17. If the Pet owner can not be reached in time, the Pet owner authorises the Pet sitter to seek emergency veterinary care for the pet if necessary for the pets health, safety, and well-being.
  18. The Pet owner will be responsible for all associated veterinary costs.
  19. The Pet owner will also provide information regarding any emergency protocols specific to the property, eg location of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, smoke detectors, Carbon monoxide detectors, alarm systems etc.
  20. The Pet sitter should keep all the pet owners information (contact information, home access codes, security measures etc) strictly confidential and agrees not to disclose to any third parties without the explicit written consent of the pet owner.
  21. The Pet owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Pet sitter from any claims, liabilities, damages, expenses (including legal fees) or harm to the pet(s) arising from the services, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct by the Pet sitter.
  22. The Pet sitting T&C’s , Pet Sitting Booking Form constitutes the entire agreement between the Pet Owner and the Pet Sitter regarding the services and supersedes all prior discussions, understandings, representations and agreements both written and verbal.
  23. Neither the Pet Sitter and Pet owner shall be held accountable for unforeseeable circumstances or events beyond their control, including acts of nature, government actions, war, epidemics or other events hindering the Pet sit’s performance. The affected party must promptly notify the other party and make reasonable efforts to mitigate the events effects.
  24. If any provision of the Pet sit Booking form and Pet Sit T&C’s is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable under applicable law, the invalidity, illegality or unenforceability of such provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions of these T&C’s.
  25. Social media consent if given on the Pet Sitting Booking Form, the Pet Sitter will take images, video, photographs of your pet(s) whilst on the pet sit, these images will be only of the pet(s) not the house, privacy, security and discretion will be applied at all times. The material may be used for advertising campaigns, literature flyers, newsletters, website content, social media pages. No personal details about the client will not be disclosed or shared without consent.
  26. Access to the Pet owner’s property : keys, fobs, key safes, alarm codes, gate codes will be kept in the strictest confidence. The Pet sitter will not be liable for any thief, loss or damage to the property or its contents unless proven wilful neglect, or gross negligence/misconduct. All keys will be returned at the end of the service and access codes will be destroyed.
